republic of liberia Geotextile Dynamic Perforation Tester

The instrument is used to determine the impedance penetration ability of geotextiles and related products by a steel cone dropped from a fixed height. It characterizes the degree of damage caused to the geotextile surface by sharp stones falling on it. Its performance meets the requirements for instruments specified in GB/T17630 "Dynamic Puncture Test for Geotextiles and Related Products - Drop Cone Method" standard.

Product Description

LHDC-1 Geotextile Dynamic Puncture Tester

1. Purpose and Scope of Application

This instrument is used to determine the penetration resistance of geotextiles and related products to a steel cone dropped from a fixed height. It characterizes the damage degree caused to the geotextile surface by falling sharp stones. Its performance meets the requirements of the instrument in the GB/T17630 "Dynamic Puncture Test for Geotextiles and Related Products - Drop Cone Method" standard.

2. Main Technical Parameters

1. Inner diameter of clamping ring: 150±0.5mm

2. Distance from cone tip to specimen: 500±2mm

3. Stainless steel cone: maximum diameter 50mm

     Cone angle 45 degrees

Total weight 1000±5g (including guide rod)

4. Small angle cone: mass 600±5g

5. Instrument weight: 45Kg

5. Overall dimensions: 450x350x1600mm

3. Testing Principle

The geotextile specimen is horizontally clamped in the clamping ring. A stainless steel cone of specified mass is dropped from a height of 500mm onto the specimen. The cone penetrates the specimen causing a hole. Then, a small angle cone marked with scale is inserted into the hole to measure the degree of penetration.
